Buonasera a tutti. Era da un bel pezzo che attendevamo un evento che vedesse impegnata la Royal Couple al completo. Si perchè a parte la passeggiatina mano nella mano dopo la essa di natale William e Kate avevano portato avanti un calendario di impegni ufficiali ben distinto.  Che si dessero il cambio nell'accudire il loro piccolo George? Forse. Fatto sta che dopo le molte polemiche sulla scelta della coppia di regalarsi l'ennesima vacanza prima delle fatiche del prossimo Royal Tour erano in molti oggi ad attenderli "al varco" per la St Patrick's Day Parade.

Good evening everyone. It was quite a while we were waiting for an event that involved the Royal Couple together. Yes, because apart from the stroll hand in hand after the Christmas Service, William and Kate had brought forward a distinct schedule of official engagements lately. Perhaps to look after to their little George? Maybe. The fact is that after a lot of controversy about the choice of the couple to leave for another holiday before the heavy duties of the next Royal Tour many of us were waiting to see them together today for the St Patrick's Day Parade.

Per quasi quarant'anni è stata la Regina Madre a presentare ai reggimenti il ramo di trifoglio mentre dal 2012 questo compito sembra essere a completo appannaggio della Duchessa di Cambridge nota in Irlanda del Nord col titolo di Baronessa Carrickfergus. (St Patrick's Day 2013)

Kate e William sono apparsi davvero in ottima forma: abbronzati, rilassati e per tutta la durata della cerimonia si sono scambiati sorrisi e sguardi complici. Per loro, al di la della pressione mediatica e degli impegni ufficiali, questo dev'essere un periodo davvero magico. Sono una coppia giovane ed innamorata per di più benedetta dalla nascita del loro piccolo principino che, come accennato nello scorso post, li accompagnerà nel loro primo Royal "Family" Tour in Australia e Nuova Zelanda il prossimo aprile

Kate and William have appeared in really good shape: tanned and relaxed, for the whole ceremony they exchanged eachother smiles and accomplices glances. For them, despite the pressure of the media and of official commitments, this must be a really magical moment. They are a young couple in love and  blessed by the birth of their little prince who, as mentioned in my last post, will join them on their first Royal "Family" tour in Australia and New Zealand next month

Nel week-end sono anche circolate voci su un loro avvistamento nel Berkshire, nei pressi della tenuta dei Middleton, mentre si dedicavano ad un po di shopping. 
In the weekend there were also rumors of a sighting of them in Berkshire, near the estate of Middleton, while they were engaged in a bit of shopping.

Le attese delle fashion followers della duchessa erano tutte concentrate sulla mise che avrebbe scelto Kate: dopo due anni consecutivi in cui ha indossato lo stesso cappotto, quest'anno tutti speravano in un nuovo look e le aspettative non sono andate deluse...o forse solo un pochino.
The expectations of fashion followers of the Duchess were all focused on the outfit that Kate would choose: after two years in a row while she had worn the same coat, this year, everyone were hoping for a new look and the expectations were not disappointed ... or maybe just a little. 

Si perchè se è vero che Kate ha finalmente scelto un nuovo cappotto, rigorosamente green, è anche vero che la scelta è sta alquanto deludente. Il  suo Hobbs London Persephone Trench Coat scontato a £195 non ha convinto tutti...no me per lo meno. L'ho trovato davvero pesante, massiccio e quasi militaresco: niente a che vedere coi soliti cappottini sciancrati e femminili a cui siamo abituati.  Detto ciò vorrei sottolineare che Kate è comunque bellissima, alta e in forma e capace di valorizzare anche il capo più insignificante. Detto ciò non posso però nascondere il mio live (lievissimo) disappunto.
Yes, because if it is true that Kate has finally chosen a new coat, strictly green, it is also true that the choice has been somewhat disappointing. Her  Hobbs London Persephone Trench Coat on sale £195  has not convinced everyone ... not me at least. I found it really heavy, massive and almost military: nothing to do with the usual waisted and femminine coats we are used to. However I would like also to point out that Kate is still beautiful, tall, fit and capable of enhancing even the most insignificant dress. Besides that, however, I can not hide my little (very little) disappointment.

Kate ha scelto tutti accessori in tinta questa volta: ha sfoggiato per la seconda volta dopo Natale, il delizioso cappellino verde firmato Gina Foster, la spilla a forma di trifoglio proprietà del reggimento e concessa in prestito alle donne della Famiglia Reale (in passato fu indossata dalla regina Madre e dalla principessa Anna) e i bellissimi orecchini di ametista di Kiki McDonough.
Kate chose all accessories in the same matching color: she wore for the second time after Christmas, the lovely  Gina Foster's green hat, the clover-shaped brooch owned by the Regiment and loaned to the women of the Royal Family (in the past it was worn by the Queen Mother and Princess Anne) and the beautiful amethyst earrings by  Kiki McDonough.

Per quest'anno la duchessa ha anche scelto delle nuove e bellissime scarpe verde scuro firmate Emmy da £400. L'aggettivo "bellissime" è dovuto anche al fatto che ne possiedo un paio assolutamente identico acquistate dalla sottoscritta, per puro caso, qualche mese fa da abbinare ad un delizioso abito verde firmato Camaieu: per una volta ho anticipato la nostra Kate :-)
This year, the Duchess also chose a brand new and beautiful pair of shoes: the £400 Emmy's dark green pumps. The "beautiful" is also due to the fact that I own a pair of totally identical shoes purchased, by chance, a few months ago to combine with a lovely green Camaieu dress: for once I anticipated our Kate :-)

In ogni caso Kate oggi era davvero radiosa e bella come il sole: sembra essersi finalmente ripresa dalla fatiche dei primi mesi di maternità e aver ritrovato il suo solito splendore.

In any case, Kate today was really beautiful and radiant and she seems to have finally recovered from the hardships of the early months of motherhood and have regained her usual glow.

Lo so lo so, non ho scuse: innumerevoli avvistamenti e news relative alla nostra Duchessa preferita e io che cosa faccio? Scappo a Venezia per il Carnevale ed abbandono blog e pagina Facebook. Non ho davvero scuse questa volta...
I know I know, I have no excuses: countless sightings and news about our favorite Duchess and what do I do? I run away to Venice for Carnival and abandone my blog and my Facebook page. I really have no excuses this time ...

Anch'io però, proprio come il Duca e la Duchessa di Cambridge mi sono presa una piccola pausa in attesa dell'estenuante e lunghissimo Royal Tour del prossimo aprile: si perchè oltre ad un paio di impegni ufficiali, una delle ultime news provenienti da Buckingham Palace riguarda proprio l'itinerario dettagliato del New Zealand and Australian Royal Tour. (Clicca qui )Un programma davvero fitto che vedrà la coppia (e, in un paio di occasioni, anche il piccolo George) impegnata in innumerevoli visite ufficiali e cerimonie. Leggendo il programma si intuisce anche che non sono previsti impegni "in abito lungo" pertanto tutte le voci sui presunti gioielli reali e le tiare che la Duchessa avrebbe dovuto sfoggiare sembrano, come al solito, rumors e nulla più. However, just as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge I took a small break while waiting for thr exhausting and long waiting Royal Tour that will take place next April: yes, because besides a couple of official engagements, one of the latest news from Buckingham Palace concerns the very detailed itinerary of the Australian and New Zealand Royal Tour (click here) A schedule that will see the couple (and in a couple of occasions, even little George) really busy and  engaged in numerous official visits and ceremonies. Reading the program is also discernible that there are no "black tie or tiara" events so all the rumors about the royal jewels and tiaras that the Duchess would have to splurge seem, as usual, rumors and nothing more.

Ma veniamo a noi. nelle ultime settimane abbiamo avuto modo di veder la nostra Kate impegnata in due diversi public engagements. Il 14 febbraio Kate ha inaugurato una nuova sede della charity The Art Room di cui è madrina, presso la Northolt High School  mentre 3 giorni dopo Kate ha affiancato la Regina per il Dramatic Arts reception a Buckingham Palace. 

But let's come back to the latest news. In the last weeks we've seen our Kate in two different public engagements. On February 14th, the Duchess has opened The ICAP Art Room, as patron of the charity at th Northolt High School; while three days later Kate has joined the Queen for the Dramatic Arts Reception at Buckingham Palace.

Per le due occasioni ufficiali Kate ha scelto: un bellissimo abito (nuovo finalmente) firmato LK Bennett - il Detroit Notch Collar Fitted Dress da £225- e ha riciclato l'abito rosso di Alexander McQueen sfoggiato durante i festeggiamenti per il Giubileo della Regina.

For the two official occasions Kate chose a beautiful blue dress (finally a new one) by  LK Bennett - Detroit Notch Collar Fitted Dress £ 225 - and has recycled the red Alexander McQueen dress she already wore during the celebrations for the Queen's Jubilee.

Nei giorni successivi la Duchessa è scomparsa, come fa spesso ultimamente, dalla scena pubblica per dedicarsi al suo George e ad una serata di relax tra amici. Sono infatti di pochi giorni fa le foto che la ritraggono insieme al suo William mentre esce dal locale Bunga Bunga di Londra.
Qui la coppia ha trascorso la serata in compagnia di vecchia amici tra cui la madrina di battesimo del principe George e amica di vecchia data di Kate, Emilia Jardine-Paterson d'Erlanger anche lei in dolce attesa.
Then in the next days after the Duchess disappeared from the public eye , as she often does lately, to devote herself to her beloved baby George and enjoy a relaxing evening with old friends. Few days ago apperared some photos of the Duchess along with her husband, while exit the  Bunga Bunga Club in Battersea London. 

Here, the couple spent the evening in the company of some friends, including the godmother of Prince George and old friend of Kate, the pregnant Emilia d'Erlanger Jardine-Paterson.

Per la serata tra amici invece la Duchessa ha optato per un look meno formale: il Temperley London Odele Sheepskin Coat da €2,350, calze e decollete nere e sotto al cappotto, secondo alcuni si intravedeva il Issa Bird Print dress, lo stesso indossato il giorno prima delle sue nozze. Unico accessorio la sua  Mulberry Cosmetic Lock Clutch.
For the evening with friends the Duchess opted for a less formal look: the l Temperley London Odele Sheepskin Coat  € 2.350,  black stockings and pumps and under the coat, according to some she might be wearing her Issa Bird Print dress, aldready worn also the day before her wedding. Veniamo poi alla notizia più recente: la partenza in gran segreto della coppia per una settimana di relax in un esclusivo resort alle Maldive. La scelta di sgattaiolare via a pochissime settimane dalla vacanza della Duchessa con i Middeltons a Mustique e di William in Spagna ha fatto storcere il naso a diverse persone nel Regno Unito. La coppia infatti ha partecipato a pochissimi impegni pubblici dalla nascita del loro George lo scorso luglio e la scelta di partire per una vacanza di "riposo", in un luogo così glamour e in un momento difficile per il loro paese non è piaciuta a tutti.
And then here we come to the most recent news, the secret departure of the couple for a week relaxing vacation  in an exclusive resort in the Maldives. The choice to sneak away just few weeks after the Duchess vacation with the Middeltons in Mustique and William in Spain, did turn up their noses to many people in the UK. The couple attended just few public engagements since the birth of their George last July and the choice of leaving for a holiday of "rest" in a place so glamorous at such a difficult time for their country, did not like to many.

Una vacanza lontano da tutti quindi, anche dal loro piccolo George che in questi giorni si trova a casa dei nonni materni nel Berkshire, affidato alle cure di Carole e Michael Middleton. 
An holiday away from all, even from their little George, who is sopending these days in the house of his maternal grandparents in Berkshire, cuddled by Carole and Michael Middleton.

Tutti pronti quindi per il prossimo Royal Tour che partirà ufficialmente il 7 aprile e terminerà il 25. In questo susseguirsi di impegni ufficiali, inaugurazioni, e discorsi la Duchessa sfoggerà qualcosa come 35 abiti diversi (non vedo l'ora!) e a quanto pare non sarà affiancata da nessun consulente d'immagine a differenza di quanto affermavano le solite voci di cui sopra che parlavano addirittura di Angela Kelly, stilista preferita dalla Regina, come accompagnatrice ufficiale. Come al solito quindi la nostra Kate farà di testa sua e si prenderà onori e oneri delle sue scelte in fatto di stile. Brava!
So all ready then for the next Royal Tour, which will officially strat on April 7 and end on April 25th. In this long series of official engagements, inaugurations and speeches, the Duchess will feature something like 35 different outfits (I can not wait!) and apparently she will not be accompanied by any image consultant, unlike the usual rumors saied, they even talked about Angela Kelly, the designer favored by the Queen as official consultant. As usual our Kate will choose for herself and will  take the honors and burdens of her style choices. Brava!

Prima della partenza è previsto il prossimo 17 marzo un'apparizione ufficiale del Duca e della Duchessa alla parata del St Patrick's Day: speriamo in un cappotto nuovo almeno quest'anno :-)
Before the departure another engagement is scheduled on March 17:   the Duke and Duchess nwill attend  the St Patrick's Day Parade: let's hope for a new coat this year at least :-)

Era da un po che aspettavamo un impegno ufficiale vero? Si perchè da quando è diventata mamma la nostra Kate ha ridotto drasticamente i suoi doveri ufficiale e si è goduta il suo George (ha fatto benissimo) e la famiglia. Dopo un Natale quasi in sordina e salvo qualche breve apparizione la duchessa era riapparsa felice e sorridente propri pochi giorni fa quando era stata immortalato al rientro da una blindatissima vacanza in famiglia nell'isola preferita dai Middelton, Mustique. Con in braccio il "pacioccosissimo" principe George Kate è apparsa in tenuta casual e in ottima forma.
It was a while that we were all expecting an official commitment isn't it? Yes, because since she became mother Kate has drastically reduced her official duties and has enjoyed her George (and she did very well) and her family. After a very quite Christmas, except for a few brief appearance, the duchess had reappeared happy and smiling only a few days ago when she was photographed returning from a family vacation in the island preferred by the Middletons, Mustique. With her chubby cheeks baby in her arms Kate has appeared in casual outfit and in a very good shape.

Il primo impegno ufficiale del 2014 era dunque moto atteso e finalmente ieri sera la duchessa ha partecipato al gala annuale della National Portrait Gallery in veste di patron.
Ci si aspettava un abito lungo e le speranze non sono andate deluse. Kate è scesa dall'auto con un abito già indossato poche settimane fa al  100 Women in Hedge Funds  gala ma con indosso una super scintillante novità. 
The first official engagement of 2014 was therefore awaited and finally last night the Duchess has attended the annual gala of the National Portrait Gallery as patron. 
We expected a full lenght dress and our hopes were not disappointed. Kate got out with a dress already worn a few weeks ago at 100 Women in Hedge Funds gala  but wearing a super sparkling new jewel.

Si perchè la duchessa ha finalmente indossato uno dei tanti gioielli prodigiosi di proprietà della regina Elisabetta che per l'occasione le ha prestato la strabiliante collana di diamanti Nizam of Hyderabad. Regalo di nozze donato alla regina nel 1947 dal Nizam di Hyderabad la collana, creata da Cartier nel 1935, conta ben 38 diamanti e venne donata insieme ad una sontuosa tiara che la regina ha fatto smontare negli anni '70 per creare 3 diverse spille. Wedding gift donated to the Queen in 1947 by the Nizam of Hyderabad and created by Cartier in 1935, the necklace counts 38 diamonds and was donated along with a sumptuous tiara that the Queen did disassemble in the 70s to create 3 different pins. The necklace is instead remained intact and still Her Majesty loves to wear it occasionally.

La scelta della duchessa di indossare un gioiello così prezioso, una rarità alla quale non siamo certo abituati, sembra dare credito alle voci diffuse poche settimane fa da alcuni tabloid britannici, secondo i quali la regina avrebbe suggerito a Kate di iniziare a vestire in maniera meno low cost e di cominciare ad indossare gioielli preziosi più adatti al suo ruolo di futura regina consorte.Che Kate si stia davvero preparando ad adeguare il suo guardaroba anche per il prossimo Royal Tour che si terrà in aprile e che toccherà Nuova Zelanda e Australia.? Francamente spero proprio di no: ogni tanto qualche gioiello importante va bene ma in fondo la duchessa è amata proprio per il suo stile semplice e sobrio, copiato non a caso, dalla donne e dalle ragazze di mezzo mondo...me inclusa ovviamente.
The choice of the Duchess to wear a jewel so precious, a rarity at which we are certainly not used to it, seems to give credence to rumors spread a few weeks ago by some British tabloids, according to which the Queen would have suggested Kate to started to dress in a less low-cost way and begin to wear precious jewelry best suited to her role as future Queen .So is it indeed true tha Kate is ready to adapt her wardrobe for the Royal Tour that will takle place next April in New Zealand and Australia.? Frankly, I hope not: some important jewel and couture dress once in a while is fine but in the end, the Duchess is loved because of her down to earth and sober style, copied, not surprisingly, by women and girls all over the world ... including me of course.

Tornando al gala di ieri Kate ha scelto si un abito riciclato ma pur sempre un abito di alta moda da sogno: si tratta del Silk Gown firmato Jenny Packham: un diafano abito lungo color inchiostro dal costo di €4.059. 
Going back to yesterday's gala, Kate chose a  recycled dress but still a high fashion one:  it is the Jenny Packham Silk Gown: a diaphanous  € 4,059 blue ink dress.

Oltre al già citato collier la duchessa ha accessoriato l'abito con dei bellissimi orecchini di diamanti, dono di nozze del suocero Carlo e decollete nere Jimmy Choo.

 

Unica nota stonata, almeno per la sottoscritta, i capelli: si perchè con un gioiello del genere un raccolto sarebbe stato di gran lunga più appropriato ed anche quei boccoli un po schiacciati non rendevano giustizia al suo bel viso ne ai suoi bellissimi capelli.

Besides the already mentioned collier, the Duchess accessorized her dress with the beautiful diamond earrings, a wedding gift frim her father in law Charles and  black Jimmy Choo pumps. 

The only discordant note, at least for myself, her hair...yes because a jewel like that would have been  more emphasized by hair updo and also those curls a little crushed on the head did not emphasize  her beautiful face and her beautiful hair.

L'accessorio più importante resta però il suo bel sorriso: dev'essere un momento davvero magico per la nostra Kate che rivedremo già in settimana visiterà uno dei centri della Charity de Art Room. A presto e buona serata.
However the most important accessory is her beautiful smile: it must be a truly magical moment for Kate and we'll  see her again this week during her scheduled visit to one of the centers of the charity Art Room. See you soon and good evening.
